Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level has become something of an institution. Renowned for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation as one of Harrogate’s foremost independent restaurants.
The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, but this doesn’t come from the desk of a London Interior Design Practice, it’s derived from the very fabric of the building. Set in the basement of a Victorian Yorkshire mansion, its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
Our food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, and we use only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. All our sauces, the majority of our breads, chutneys, jams etc are made from scratch by our brigade here at the Tannin Level. We only ever outsource where absolutely necessary, and when we do we only use local artisan suppliers (such as the Harrogate Cheeseboard).
